By Road:

From the North of Edinburgh and Edinburgh

Take the City Bypass dual carriageway from Edinburgh (signposted to Berwick-upon-Tweed). Exit at the 2nd Haddington sliproad signposted to East Linton. When you come to the roundabout off this sliproad, take the 2nd exit to East Linton on A199. Stay on this road past the East Linton turn-off and past the next 2 signs which read “Knowes”, take the next road left at the signpost which reads A198 to North Berwick, Tyninghame and Whitekirk.  Stay on this road through the village of Tyninghame until you see a sign in the field on the right which reads “Stewarts Turf” , at the bottom of that field you will see the sign for Lochhouses. Turn right here into Lochhouses and follow the road past the row of farm cottages until you come to the farm yard. Come to the farmhouse and we will guide you to the Harvest Moon Holiday site near the beach.

From Edinburgh Airport

By public transport - the cheapest way is to get the airport bus (run every 15 minutes) to Edinburgh Waverley Station, catch the train to North Berwick and a taxi to Lochhouses.

If you hire a car – drive out of airport and follow signs for Edinburgh until you see the sign for City Bypass A720 Berwick-upon-Tweed. At the end of the City Bypass, keep following signs for Berwick-upon-Tweed A1 then Exit at the 2nd Haddington sliproad signposted to East Linton. A1 from Newcastle

Take the A1 dual carriageway signposted North to Berwick-upon-Tweed then Edinburgh but Exit at the 2nd Dunbar roundabout and take the A199 to North Berwick. Keep left at the next roundabout and keep heading for North Berwick. Continue until you see the signpost for A198 to North Berwick, Tyninghame and Whitekirk.  Stay on this road through the village of Tyninghame until you see a sign in the field on the right which reads “Stewarts Turf” , at the bottom of that field you will see the sign for Lochhouses. Turn right here into Lochhouses and follow the road past the row of farm cottages until you come to the farm yard. A198 from North Berwick

Take the A198 from North Berwick to Dunbar. About 1 mile after you pass through Whitekirk on this road, you will come to a bad right-hand bend, slow down as the sign for Lochhouses is on that bend and you must turn sharp left into Lochhouses at that bend.  Turn left here into Lochhouses and follow the road past the row of farm cottages until you come to the farm yard. Come to the house and we will guide you to the Harvest Moon Holiday site near the beach.

By Train/Bus:

Trains  - either to Dunbar Station which is on the main East coast line and is only 10 minutes by taxi from the farm or take a train from Edinburgh Waverly Station (Scotrail service) on the North Berwick line. North Berwick station is only 10 minutes away by taxi too.

Buses - there are also regular buses from Edinburgh (Ferrymans) to Haddington, East Linton, Dunbar and North Berwick.

Arrival Departure

Check-In

Our check-in time, where at all possible, is between 4.00pm & 6.00pm.  However, should you need to check-in outside these hours or should you be delayed for any reason, please call Michele’s mobile 07785 394026 so that we can ensure there will be someone to meet you.

On arrival at Lochhouses Farmhouse (red door) please just park and come to the door. Robert, Michele, Petra, Michael or Susan will be there or in the farmyard.  We will show you to your accommodation and en route point out the shower block, Farm Store and other areas of interest on the farm.

In the interests of health and safety and as a courtesy to other guests you are not permitted to drive your car into the field or park your car next to your tent or in the field..  Cars should be left in the car park area. Wheelbarrows are provided for you to take your luggage to the tent. Please return your wheelbarrow to the car park when you have finished with it.

Check-Out

Our check-out time is 10.30am on the day of departure.  You are welcome to leave your luggage in your car and for your car to remain in the car park should you wish to walk around locally or go to the beach on your last day.

We ask you to kindly deposit your waste in the bins provided in the car park and place the bed linen and any other towels, kitchen towels in the basket and drop back at the farmhouse.  Please ensure that you have washed up and that you leave the tent clean and tidy.
